This "real deal" physical album comes from a lover of art who has decorated the music therein. The art featured in the Brothington Album Booklet is a unique accompaniment to the album and was conceived, designed and created by the musician (Kyle Brothers). The 12 page booklet, clear jewel case, inserts, and semi gloss disc face embody the fruits of a labour of love, in photos, slick digital art and complete lyrics, so you can sing along and ponder the inner workings of this dually, mad artist/musician.

about

Our builder had just finished the extension to our house and I had embarked upon the mystically painful, seven day journey of painting inside and out in freezing weather. The upside was to enjoy a few beers at the end of each day whilst sat on a milk crate strumming on the guitar. You couldn't pay for the reverb those rooms and the garage had. The chorus of Trees emanated from the extension at that time. I love nature and I'm not joking when I say I love trees. "Hippy" I hear you say? Well why not then. Techno Hippy it is. A living contradiction.

lyrics

11. T R E E S
Was it a signal? Was it a signal to me? I walked right through Between the two Was it a gateway? A threshold? A new dawn? So profuse in countless shapes Bearing all the fruit for this mobile race The finest art is attracting my gaze The finest art in three dimensional space Growing up through the decaying roofless barn Out of the rock face Out on the lawn Up and down this Gadigal street Up and down you’ll be glad to meet Chorus: And I’m talkin’ ‘bout trees I love it when they sway and twist and bend reflect the sunlight off their leaves my friend I’m open wide about trees I close my eyes and see trees When I’m sad and lonely and they are the one and only cure for my disease my friend I can’t deny I love trees I can’t sit tight about trees Under them I camp on holidays Through them I tramp A bird lover’s maze Filling out a hole in my days Both hard and soft they’re mending all my ways There in faith drawn up from Mother Earth Getting all they need from their place of birth Holdin’ out their limbs to the sky Holdin’ out and I know not why (Repeat Chorus Plus...) : Clap your eyes upon their beauty they’re performing all their duties standing still my friend I’m not so shy about trees I’m black and white about green ; About that green It’s such a shady scene Universal body Round and lignaphonic Rushing leaves and I’m attracted something chronic Universal body Radially symmetronic Always there when I’m in need of a visual tonic Trees When my nerves just freeze They always please They never cease I bow on my knees I’m so at ease Down I’m living down I’m by the trees I’m living in the dress circle of green city

I am an musician, artist and a teacher, specialising in teaching children to play guitar. I am based near Canberra, ACT, Australia and this is my debut release. At 17 I learned to play, becoming a songwriter when practice eventually became exploration. My music fits mostly within the Folk genre with many influences. I hope that there will be many more albums to follow as I'm writing all the time. ... more
